Ingredients (Serves 1)
- 1 cup (240ml) ice
- 1/2 cup (120ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled (or espresso)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (whole, almond, oat, or your choice)
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup (plus extra for drizzle)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (or to taste)
- 3 tbsp chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
Step 1: Brew the Coffee
- Brew a strong cup of coffee or espresso and let it cool to room temperature. You can also use cold brew for a smoother taste.
Step 2: Blend the Ingredients
- In a blender, combine the ice, cooled coffee, milk, chocolate syrup, sugar, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract.
- Blend on high until smooth and creamy. Adjust sweetness or consistency by adding more sugar or ice as needed.
Step 3: Assemble the Frappuccino
- Drizzle chocolate syrup along the inside of a tall glass.
- Pour the blended frappuccino mixture into the glass.
Step 4: Garnish and Serve
- Top with whipped cream and drizzle more chocolate syrup on top.
- Serve with a straw and enjoy your homemade Java Chip Frappuccino!
- For a richer flavor: Use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of milk.
- For a caffeine-free option: Substitute coffee with decaf or omit it altogether and add more milk or chocolate syrup for flavor.
- Customize it: Add a pinch of instant coffee powder for extra coffee flavor or use dark chocolate chips for a more intense chocolate taste.
